Well I’ve been officially done with high school for a few days now – since Wednesday. Sure, I’ve still got graduation, but that’s just a ceremony.
Yesterday in the wee hours of the morning, myself and about 100 other seniors showed up to the high school to decorate “senior hall,” the hallway that contains the seniors’ lockers. At first, it was a little crazy – the troublesome 1% showed up, one of them wearing rollerblades and carrying a hockey stick, and broke a window – but it turned out great. Afterwards, up through 1pm, we had a picnic/cookout type deal out on the football field. It was pretty good stuff. It was like a typical high school party, except we had permission and there wasn’t alcohol.
Then, last night we had Senior Honor night, where I got a whole bunch of awards. The ceremony was a bit long, but the awards pretty much made up for that downside.
Tomorrow, I’ve got a Senior breakfast and graduation practice, then Sunday at 2pm is the Commencement ceremony. Hopefully it won’t be too long…
