FBLA National Leadership Conference

Hey everyone…it’s been a while since I’ve posted anything. I just returned from the FBLA (Future Business Leaders of America) National Leadership Conference, where I competed in the Technology Concepts test. This competition entailed taking a multiple choice test…pretty simple, but the content was difficult (due to the fact that it was at least 50% networking – blah, I eed to learn that sometime). Well anyway, I didn’t place in the top 10, so I don’t know my rank.

If you went to this year’s NLC, check out the Contact page and talk to me – I’d love to talk to anyone who went there!!!!!

Have a nice day/night and God bless

ACT, SAT Scores

I got my ACT scores a few days ago and my SAT score today. On the ACT, I got a composite score of 32. The breakdown: reading – 32; grammar – 30; math – 33; science – 34. I was suprised at the fact that my science was higher than my math. On the SAT, I got a combined score of 1310: 600 on the Verbal and 710 on the Math.

Tests

Today I had half my Physics final and the Computer Science AP test. The Physics Final went well, as I expected. I took the Computer Science AB test, even though I’m only in Computer Science A (the only one offered at my school). I thought the test was going to be horrible, but it went great! I was pretty sure of all but 2 of the multiple choice (the two I didn’t know, I didn’t answer) and I answered all the free-response problems. I thought I’d maybe get only half the free-response and very few of the multiple choice. Well, I’ll just have to wait and see how I did – maybe I got a good score!!! Blogger Smiley

SAT

Got home from taking the SAT a little while ago. Because I thought the PSAT was difficult, I thought the SAT would also be pretty bad. To my suprise, it was a lot better than I’d expected. I got a reasonable answer for all the questions on the math. Now the verbal….why can’t they make it as easy as the math? What’s it comparing when they have a really easy math portion, but relatively difficult verbal sections. Oh well, I think I did allright on that. Now I get to study for those extraordinarily fun AP exams coming up in the next few weeks. I’m taking the Computer Science AB test (even though I’m just in AP Computer Science A) Thursday, as well as my Physics final exam Thursday and Friday. Then, the following Tuesday, I’ve got the Physics B AP test, which should be interesting.

New Essay

Finished an essay for English class this morning at 3 am; added it to the My Documents section today.

Title: Can’t Take God Away
Description: Named after Audio Adrenaline’s 1993 song, Can’t Take God Away, this essay analyzes the ways in which the song talks shows aspects of American life. Also included are explanations of how the beliefs shown in the song agree with mine.

It’s Over

The day has finally come! I turned in my Junior Research Paper today, after staying up until 2:30 last night working on it. My topic was the differences between the Christian God and Allah (the Muslim god).

This afternoon, right after school, I took a two and a half hour nap and did it feel good. It was like 70 outside so I slept with my windows wide open and got to experience the beautiful weather in my sleep.

Wanna read my research paper?

FBLA State

First of all, sorry for a lack of posting, espeically around Easter time. I had wanted to write something about the true meaning of Easter and Good Friday and all that, but I didn’t get around to it. So if you want to know more, read the Bible or ask me to tell you about the Easter story.

I just got back an hour or so ago from the Illinois FBLA State Conference. It was pretty cool and I won first place in my event, technology concepts. Basically, it was a multiple-choice test with questions related to technology, mostly related to computers. As part of the prize, I received $100 from a Mr. and Mrs. Robinson – THANK YOU!!!! The top two students in each event are invited to the FBLA National conference which will be held in Nashville this year from June 29 – July 2. I’ll be looking forward to that. About 7 other students from my school were invited to go also because they did well in their event (I think I counted that 7 of us got first places – CONGRATS!!)

Well that’s enough for now. I’ll try and post once in a while. When the end of June comes around, I’ll post something more about the National conference and how I do there.

Windows XP

Back sometime last fall, Microsoft sent me some survey about Works Suite. They mentioned that if you filled out and returned the survey, you’d be entered into a drawing to win your choice of 5 or so Microsoft Products. Supposedly, if you won, you were supposed to receive the prize back in December. Since I didn’t get anything back then, I didn’t figure I’d won. But, suprisingly, last Friday, I received a package from Microsoft and what do you know, it was Windows XP. I set quickly set it up and learned how much I’ve been missing by using Windows ME. It’s really a great operating system! When I was using WindowsME, I’d have to reboot once or twice from the time I got home to the time I went to bed and even more frequently if I listened to music online. Now, with XP, I can stream music for hours and not have to reboot. I was going to keep my computer on to see how long I could run without rebooting, but a software installation wanted me to reboot and I just figured I’d not do that because I think it would run a long time before I’d have to reboot.

So that’s really great. If you’re having consistent problems with your windows operating system, try XP!

Five years

Well everyone, it’s been 5 years since I put my first web site up on the internet. I’ve gone from angelfire to hosting that came with dial-up to keeping my site on my dad’s domain to it’s final location, here, with my own domain and own hosting. I’ve gone a long way from the beginning – learned a whole lot, changed my site hundreds of times, and have enjoyed working with it.

Last night, I added an entrance page to the site – if you came directly to this page from a search engine or from wherever and would like to see the entrance page, go to http://erichmusick.com/index.cgi.

Busy :(

Ahh.. as always. Busy. Gotta love school.

Well anyway I figured I’d put something on here because it’s been a while and a lot has gone on in the last few weeks. Back at the beginning of February I got cable internet access, which really rules. I can do so much more in so little time!!!

Ok besides that, I guess I don’t have much to say. School’s busy. We’re starting our Junior research papers which will take up a ton of time. (Can’t school just be over!?!?!?!)

Oh well….it’ll be over soon enough.

I’m out
