Behold, You have made my days as handbreadths, And my lifetime as nothing in Your sight; Surely every man at his best is a mere breath.

Snow!!!
It snowed about a foot overnight and as a result, we didn’t have school today. I spent the day shoveling, having snowball fights, sleeping, and doing nothing of importance.
Tomorrow I’m going to winter camp at Timber-Lee with my old youth group. Last year wasn’t all that great, but this year should be cool!
New “My Document”
I believe I mentioned an essay I was writing for my AP English Final Exam about two weeks. I have added the essay to the My Documents portion of the web site.

FBLA Northern Area
Attended the Northern Area, Illinois FBLA conference yesterday. I competed in the Technology Concepts events – I took a multiple choice test of 100 questions. I won second place and got a trophy and everything!!! Pretty cool stuff.
Today, the weather was awesome. It’s the middle of January, when there’s usually snow everywhere, and it was in the high 50s/low 60s. It was awesome getting out and enjoying it!
Psalm 18:1-3 NASB
“I love You, O LORD, my strength.” The LORD is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer, My God, my rock, in whom I take refuge; My shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold. I call upon the LORD, who is worthy to be praised, And I am saved from my enemies.
Homework :(
I spent all my time today working on the take home exam for my AP English final exam….and I’m still not finished. Thankfully, though, I’m almost there – just have to have my mom proofread and then make any changes she suggests. Thankfully, I’m leaving the AP class for second semester and going to the college-bound English 3 class, which should be a LOT less work!! Yay!
Underground Hope
Fairly recently, a friend and I started a newsletter for Christians. This newsletter discusses issues facing society today and explains the true Christian perspective on these issues. In the first issue, we discussed Islam and the fact that it ISN’T the same thing as Christianity.
Along with the newsletter, I created a web site. This web site allows those who aren’t in my area to read the newsletter and allows ALL readers to discuss the topics included in it. The web site has forums, downloads, links, a mailing list (so you can receive the latest issue in your email), and much more!
Update: The newsletter is no longer available, but feel free to check out the archives.

Happy New Year
This is insane. I’m on Christmas break, but I’m still too busy to post anything on here. Maybe part of that is that it kinda sorta slips my mind.
Anyway, today I went ice skating with some friends and now I’m REALLY tired. Since my youth group isn’t meeting today, I’m going to my old one. I don’t really feel like going since I’m so tired, but oh well.
I shouldn’t really space my postings so far apart because then I get these huge long ones.
For Christmas, my dad got the family the HP Photosmart 315 Digital Camera. It’s got something like a 2.3 megapixel resolution and 3 quality levels. It’s really cool because you can take picture after picture and if you ahve a big hard drive and a cd-burner (for backups), you’ll never have to worry about taking too many pictures. The only downside is that the camera devours batteries, so it would probably be a good idea to get an ac adapter to save on the batteries.
My birthday was back Dec31, so I’m 17 now. Yes, I know the about me page says I’m 16, but I haven’t had time to change that yet.
For my birthday, my dad got cable internet access from AT&T. We just have to set up an appointment for installation and then we’ll be getting online at speeds way faster than 56kbps (or the 50,666bps I usually connect at).
Also for my birthday, my dad got me a soldering iron so we could fix my police scanner, which is really cool. All we had to do was solder a connection between two points to fix it. It’s really awesome being able to listen to the cops and firemen and everyone else. Last night I was scanning the FRS (family radio service) channels as well as the police and fire and I heard some kids I know from a few blocks away. My brother and I got on our FRS radios and played jokes on them. It was pretty funny – they thought I was one of the kid’s dad’s heheehehehe. I never actually told them who I was and so we can continue to play jokes on them when they go on their radios
Lonnnnnnnnnng Bike Ride
Got back a little while ago from a long, 5 hour, 30-40 mile bike ride. It’s amazing that I’m still able to ride in December. Normally there’s snow on the ground by now. It got a little chilly outside, but I dressed pretty warm, so I was allright.
I’ve been working on a web site for my school lately – check out what my friend and I have so far at http://laimins.com/wcchs/
New Printer
![]() $149 @ amazon.com >> |
My family picked up a new printer yesterday – the HP Deskjet 940cse. Our previous printer was the Xerox Docuprint M750, a very horrible printer. Sure, the quality was good and they sent you a new one if something went wrong, but things constantly went wrong. We had problem after problem and we were FINALLY able to pick up a new one. This new printer is a lot better – the DPI, speed, all that stuff is about the same, but HP has a much higher quality printer.
