I believe that I am awesome in God’s eyes, in the sense that He loves me (John 3:16) and I am fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14). On the other hand, we, mere humans, are sinners (Romans 3:23), which isn’t cool or awesome at all. Thankfully, God has cleansed us from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9) because of His great love for us (John 3:16). Because of His great power, love, grace and other attributes, only God and His actions can truly be deemed “awesome” – awesome not only in the sense that He is wonderful, but also in the sense that He’s worthy of awe and reverence (Exodus 15:11, Deuteronomy 7:21, Deuteronomy 10:21, etc.).
