Positions of Authority

Many people feel that they don’t have much authority over others. They fail to remember that we don’t have to be anyone extraordinarily important to have an influence over others. We all have an influence on our friends because there’s a reason for those friendships – usually there is respect between the two friends – they want to be our friend because they look up to us. Living out a Christ-like life while around them can have a huge impact on them because it shows Jesus to them in a very powerful way, and it’s coming from someone they trust. I know God will help me to live as I should, not only because He commands it, but also to reveal Himself to my friends through my actions and obedience to Him

I also have authority over others in the newsletter my friend and I write. Because we write mostly on theological matters that aren’t always extremely easy for everyone to understand, there are many people who trust what we say. Hopefully, all our readers check everything we say with the Bible says, as our words are merely our words, while the Bible is God’ Word.

Lastly, I have my own web design and web programming business. Although I am self-employed and have no employees, I have an influence on many people. I get tens of thousands of visitors to my business’s web site each year and I hope to run the business in such a way that is a witness to others. In addition, the statement on the web site that the company is Christian owned and operated will get people thinking about what it means to be a Christian and possibly God will even use it to prompt people to ask more questions about Him and His plan of salvation.
